Tuesday Tunes, July 2, 2013: Here's to (Kind of) Growing Up Edition

It's the second worst day of the week, so you know what that means...Tuesday Tunes!

This week we give shout-outs to those artists we knew way back who are returning to their roots, as well as those new artists who are all too keen to grow up and leave their childish images behind.

See our five under the cut!

5) Miley Cyrus, We Can't Stop

The transition from child star to adult artist is never an easy one.

Miley continues to distance herself from her "Hannah Montana" days, which we can't understand, because "The Climb" and "Party in the USA" are classics.

Regardless, Miley continues to show she cannot be tamed in this tries-too-hard video. Message received.

4) Selena Gomez, Come and Get It

Like Miley, Selena's also trying to distance herself from her past squeaky clean image. While she doesn't go as far as Miley in sexualizing herself, Selena's new video shows she is no longer a little kid.

And their new sexy images aren't all these former Disney teen queens share--they both have been accused of cultural appropriation in their latest musical endeavours.

3) Armin van Buuren ft. Trevor Guthrie, This Is What It Feels Like

Frosted tips are out, Budget Brad Pitt is in. Trevor Guthrie, formerly known as the hot lead singer from the musical sensation "Soul Decision", is all grown up. And we like it.

2) Britney Spears, Ooh La La

Oh, Britney Spears. The Ghost of Disney Mouseketeers Past. Sure, the lyrics are infantile. And most of the time it sounds like Britney Spears had a lobotomy. But our advice to Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus--if you're going to follow in any former child star's footsteps, it could be worseA lot worse.

1) Avril Lavigne, Here's to Never Growing Up

The title says it all. Ten years after her breakout hit "Complicated", Avril goes back to high school for her latest video.

But did she ever really leave?
