The five songs Earworming the hell out of us this week. Something old, something new, 100% awesome.

5) Sam and the Womp, Bom Bom

Never heard of Sam and the Womp? Neither had we. However, that was before Joe Fresh's infectious new spring commercials . The commercials feature beautiful and skinny people dancing in size 0 pastel jeans and t-shirts to the British band's single, "Bom Bom". Fortunately the commercial is approximately 1:00 min, which is an ideal amount of time to listen to this song. Any longer, and you'll feel an irresistible urge to talk like an adorable Cockney urchin and ask your North American dentist to reverse years of orthodontic work. That is, turn into a chav. Or whatever the 2st century equivalent to a chav is.

Also, apparently "womping" is a thing, although Latte's inherent laziness has confined her research of this term to as it is defined on Urban Dictionary. Therefore, take each definition with a grain of salt.

4) Olly Murs, Troublemaker

As Mocha put it, this is the song Maroon Five wishes it had written. Also, Olly is a more adorkable and plump Adam Levine, without the diviiiiiine bone structure and $35 million dollar a year empire (seriously). So, basically Olly is nothing like Adam Levine except for his voice.

3) Vita Chambers, Fix You

Ms. Chambers is one talented youngster-she's only 19! Hailing from BC, and originally from Barbados, her new single "Fix You" (to our admittedly limited knowledge) is her first song gathering serious airplay in Canada. Like Sam and the Womp, our immediate reaction to this song was, "Who IS this?"
Less Coldplay and more like her Bohemian comrade Rihanna, "Fix You" is a great electro song with some impressive vocals from our Canadian girl.

2) Mumford and Sons, Lover of the Light

News broke last week that the band fronted by Carey Mulligan's husband (she is the best!) would be hitting Edmonton and Calgary in late May, which filled us with joy. Naturally we've been listening to their latest album in preparation, and so they make our list this week.

While the sincerity behind "Lover of the Light" can make us blush with its earnestness, we prefer its slower build up and impressive instrumentation to "I Will Wait".
But, seriously, what the hell is going on in this video?

1) James, Say Something

Latte's Anglophilia kicked into overdrive this weekend, upon completing Caitlin Moran's hilarious "How to Be A Woman" (review forthcoming) and seeing the musical "Billy Elliot" (bonus video! Try to be cynical--you will fail).
Which leads us to one of the best bands of Britpop, James. and a hell of a good song:
